At the end of November, 2006 two friends from Buriton and I travelled to Dominase in Ghana after the villagers of Buriton had paid for a new well to be dug there. Click here to READ MORE ABOUT THE PROJECT We met the villagers, some of whose amazing portraits are shown here; we attended the opening ceremony of the well, met the village chief, went to church, watched the chiefs' festival procession, visited some schools and the village clinic - and then spent one day at a beach resort on the way home. Everywhere, we found the Ghanaians to be friendly, generous and optimistic - with an enviably simple life-style.
I hope you enjoy this small sample of the photos, and if you would like to read an account of our travels, please e-mail me at sargent@toucansurf.com
