Candle Stands

Here are some photos of a Votive Candle Stand which I made for St Peter's Church, Petersfield. It consists of 5 curved and rising rows of tea-lights: 40 candles in all.

It has a locked cash-box and a shelf for unused candles. The base is very heavy, for extra stability, and the top is tastefully curved for aesthetic and safety reasons.

Here is a name-plate made for a house called 'BROOMSTICKS'. The design consists of a witch's broom (or besom) with the name, in individually hand-cut letters, beneath. The customer specified the ornate font 'Harrington' from the almost endless list of available fonts. Click on the thumbnails to enlarge.

Another VOTIVE CANDLE STAND - made for a church in the South Downs. The rising rows of candles are symbolic of the hills which surround the church. The stand has been made to fit in a double-corner which was not an exact right angle, nor was the floor level. These factors were allowed for, and accommodated, in the design. The base incorporates a polished marble insert which adds to the weight and stability of the stand. All the candles are tea-lights, except the central one which is a long-burning candle from which the others can be lit.
